BIOGRAPHY
Lifelong environmental activist, Executive Director of Great Old Broads for Wilderness. Veronica (Ronni) Egan grew up in Cleveland, Ohio, on the shore of a dead inland sea (Lake Erie) and moved to New Mexico in the mid 60s, just after the Cuyahoga River burned. These experiences served to make her a lifelong environmental activist, whether guiding pack trips into wilderness in New Mexico and Utah, working for Outward Bound or currently serving as Executive Director for Great Old Broads for Wilderness, based in Durango, Colorado. She has always believed that unlimited growth, be it of a species or an economy, would result in a severely unbalanced ecosystem, as we are now witnessing. We humans must learn to live within our biological means, or risk the loss of vast amounts of biodiversity and increasingly desperate circumstances for our descendants.
